Student who raped his girlfriend to death, sentenced to death by hanging

A High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo state has sentenced to death the killer boyfriend Chukwudi Onweniwe of an HND student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Nifemi Adeyeoye to death by hanging. Chukwudi Onweniwe was dragged before the court in May 22 2017 on a four count charge of action endangering life, kidnapping and abduction, rape and murder. . According to the Prosecutor, Jumoke Ogunjebi said the accused person abducted the deceased and took her “to a farm near Alayere, Ogbese, raped her and then snuffed life out of her by choking and strangulating her to death. The police prosecutor, Inspector John Aderibigbe said that one of the motorcyclists who testified in the case reported the suspicious movement of the accused person and the deceased at the police station.  Aderibigbe said that the case was later transferred to Special Anti Cultism Squad in Akure. Nigerian artist, Timaya uses a water closet as ice bucket

Timaya uses a WC as ice bucket in club. See photos. This club owners will not kill us with their everyday inventions. At first it was ‘Shanawole’ then it was upgraded to ‘Coffin‘ now we are on some WC shii. Timaya shared this unique container for holding ice to use in drinks or to keep a wine bottle cold in a club last night. For some reasons, I am not cool with it. It just feels like drinking ‘sh*t’.

National Youth Games: To Start at "UNILORIN"

Aniedi Dickson, Director of Sports, Akwa Ibom Sports Council, said on Tuesday that the forthcoming National Youth Games (NYG) was the much-needed platform to revitalize the country’s sports. Speaking with our reporter in a telephone interview yesterday Dickson said that he expect the authorities to place talents that would be discovered from the competition in special training camps.  “The National Sports Commission (NSC) should ensure that talents discovered at the Games are natured to become elite athletes.“We should avoid a situation where they willbe forgotten immediately after the competition, because in the youths lies the continuity of sports in the country”, he said.
